After breakfast, we take a comprehensive city tour of Hanoi. We will see Ho Chi Minh’s complex including the mausoleum (outside photo stop), the former workhouse of “Uncle Ho” and the famous “One Pillar” Pagoda. Also see the extraordinary artifacts in the Ethnological Museum. In the afternoon, visit the courtyards and stroll through the beautiful gardens of the famous Temple of Literature. This was once Vietnam’s first university. Followed by a pleasant city walk with the group through the old city center. Explore the narrow streets and watch locals practice their crafts in small boutiques along the street. You are sure to find this activity special to see! After this, we all get into traditional Cyclo ride/ Green buggies surrounding Hanoi Old Quarters and Hoan Kiem Lake. Overnight in Hanoi.

Arriving in Mai Chau, it. is time to stretch our legs and take a light walk through the local villages of the White Thai Tribe. We spend the night in Mai Chau.
Good to know: The light trekking/hike is suitable for anyone in reasonable to good health/ The hike is not so suitable for people with osteoarthritis. The trekking takes about 2 – 2.5 hours and wearing easy and comfortable (hiking) shoes in recommended.

After breakfast we start the day with a bicycle tour through the various villages in Mai Chau. Of course, a visit to the colorful local market cannot be missed. Various minorities come to the market to buy and sell products. Feast your eyes. Clothing, fresh vegetables, colorful fruits, honey and herbs. You can’t think of anything or you can find it there. Then we continue walking and discover more remote and authentic villages. An excellent opportunity to learn more about this special culture. At the end of the day, we drive back to the hotel. In the morning after breakfast, we will travel to the historic city of Hoa Lu, the capital of Vietnam at the time of the Dinh and Le dynasties around the year 1000. There you will see several temples in old Vietnamese architectural style dedicated to the Dinh and Le dynasty kings. After this we travel on to Ninh Binh – the base for our visit to the fascinating Van Long Nature Reserve. The rural area you travel through is known as one of the most beautiful regions of Vietnam! In Ninh Binh, we take a bicycle tour on picturesque roads (approx. 13 – 14 km) and ride on scenic roads past beautiful green (depending on the season) rice fields. A beautiful tour, where we get to know the purity of daily life.
In the afternoon, we board small traditional rowing boats (sampans) for a leisurely boat ride through the Van Long Nature Reserve. A stunning area, also called “mainland Halong Bay. The magnificent limestone rock peaks rising from the landscape make for an indescribable picture. Be paddled leisurely along the narrow rivers and enjoy the imposing nature, the mysterious swamp, the caves you sail past and the extraordinarily friendly people along the shore. Arrival in Tuan Chau island, embark our PRIVATE sailing boat to start cruising on the bay which will bring you an unforgettable memory. You will be marveled by thousands of cave and islets, cruising among limestone islands and photograph of stunning landscapes of Ha Long Bay. Enjoy seafood lunch served on board while the boat is passing by the most beautiful place of the bay with the famous islets such as Stone Dog, Incense Burner, Fighting cock islet, one of Ha Long symbol. You will be marveled by thousands of cave and islets. Boat brings you to visit Thien Cung grotto, Dau Go cave which are considered as the most beautiful sightseeing places of Halong Bay. A free morning in Halong Bay. During the afternoon, we drive towards Hanoi airport for our flight to Hue city. On the way to the airport, visit the ceramic village of Phu Lang (time permitting).

Today we will take a boat trip on the Perfume River (Song Huong River) and learn about Vietnam’s imperial past. You will first visit the Thien Mu Pagoda (also called “Linh Mu”), one of the oldest pagodas in Vietnam. It became famous overnight when one of the monks drove from this pagoda to the then Saigon in 1963 and set himself on fire as a protest.
We also tour the Forbidden Purple City, once the walled private grounds of the imperial family. Walking past the palaces, temples and lotus ponds, the history of the imperial Nguyen dynasty comes to life through your guide’s stories. At the end of the morning, we explore Dong Ba Market, Hues largest market.
In the afternoon, we visit the 19th-century tomb of Tu Duc. Remarkably, the emperor used the huge mausoleum complex before his death (1885) and is buried elsewhere. Experience the harmony between the architecture and the surrounding landscape and imagine how Tu Duc spent hours in the teahouse by the water. Overnight in Hue city.

In the morning we travel on to our new destination: Hoi An. Of course, we make a short break at the fishing village of Lang Co and the beach of the same name. Here you will have the opportunity to go to the restroom and stretch your legs. Then we travel on over the Hai Van Pass (“Cloud Pass”), overlooking mountains, sea, idyllic beaches, and small villages. What a breathtakingly beautiful coastal road! Of course, we make a photo stop.
After a trip through the Marble Mountains of da Nang, past beautiful caves and temples, we arrive during the day in picturesque Hoi An, known for its French-colonial and Japanese Chinese houses, beautiful Asian bridges and fairy silk lanterns. Photographers are in for a treat. Overnight in Hoi An.

Charming Hoi An may be even more beautiful than you thought. Exceptional how well preserved the remains of its glory days (15th-19th century) are – logical that UNESCO declared this historic port city a World Heritage Site. The locals are extremely friendly; you can count on surprising encounters! We take a stroll through the old, car-free city center and see the famous Japanese covered bridge and a pagoda. You will have plenty of time to explore the charming town. Overnight in Hoi An.

05:30AM: enjoy a tour to visit the floating market.
We leave Can Tho Ecolodge via a private sampan boat on The Ba Lang River. Joining the Can Tho River to the north, we are soon greeted with the lively picture of local trading across wooden rowboats and motorised tin boats. We spend time discovering how This Ancient Market operates and grabbing some great local deals on food, crafts and beyond.
After this, we make our way onto land and finish our tour with a visit to A Local Rice Noodle Factory. This small commune has spent hundreds of years perfecting the art of making “Hu Tieu”, available to see in a process involving rice grinding, mixing with starch and cutting sundried rice pancakes into strips.
Finish this tour, we return to Can Tho Ecolodge and continue the memorable experiences.

Boat tour on Mekong River looking at Rach Mieu bridge. Visit floating fish farms along the riverside. Visitors will be instructed feeding the fish at the pool. The boat will take visitor to the Unicorn Island, visit bee farm, enjoy honey tea, banana wine…., getting to know the process of making honey, visit fruit orchard. Visitor can pick the fruit in the orchard (paying fee depend on the fruit). Electric carts take guests along the country road in Thoi Son commune, into tourist attraction where they can enjoy the various kind of fruit and listen to the Southern Vietnamese traditional music.
Get on rowing boats on a canal under the shade of two lines of water palm trees. After trip, we return Saigon. Overnight in Saigon.
